Millie and the Magical Moon by Brian Gallagher and Phillip Cullen

Mum, Dad and Millie are off on their summer holidays to beautiful Inis Oirr. With a little help from the not-so-shipwrecked MV Plassey, Millie has a magical moonlit adventure!
Maybe it's not quite so long since the Plassey's last voyage after all...

Brian and Phillip are O'Brien stalwarts, having written and illustrated several books already, respectively.  However Brian's earlier books have been historical novels, so this is quite a departure for him!

Luckily it's been a fantastic success. The story is magical in all the right ways, featuring a young girl's imaginative visit to the moon - or maybe not imaginative! Phillip's illustrations add just the right touch, the slightly cartoony style and rich colours bringing the story to life and adding wonderful details to look out for in each spread. I'd love a holiday on Inis Oirr myself!

A beautiful story for any reader, this one will hopefully be in plenty of stockings this year.

Millie and the Magical Moon is available now. I received a free copy and am giving an honest review.
