Short story collections are always tough to rate. I've never yet read a collection where I loved every single story; I've also never read one where I hated them all.In this collection, the ones I enjoyed definitely outweighed the ones I didn't.

Each story is paired with an illustration that pictures a moment in the story. The illustrations are amazing, bright and full of life and perfectly matched with their stories. These are definitely people to look out for in the future.

The stories run the gamut from kind of folktale-y to hard science fiction and beyond, and apart from one or two they are perfectly understandable on their own. A couple, I thought, were set in worlds so different from our own that the short story wasn't enough to explain them properly, so I didn't really follow what was going on. There's usually at least one like that in every collection, though!

Overall I really loved this; I highly recommend it, and I'll be looking out for others in the series. This has opened up a whole new avenue of reading for me!
