When I was young, we had a game based on a TV character. The board had circles with pictures underneath and pieces to cover them, and we had to make pairs. The board could be moved so the pictures weren't always in the same place. We spent literally hours with that game, but eventually the covering pieces got lost, and you can imagine it wasn't as much fun then.

However! The clever people at Nosy Crow have thought of that, and the covers are literally built into this brilliant book! There are four scenes - Construction Site, In the City, At the Airport and Outer Space - each with four pairs of pictures. There are three games that can be played; one is to open the covers and try and find the item in the main picture; one is to look for matching pictures; and finally there are a few extra things to look for in each image.

The book is sturdy and very colourful, with plenty to look at and talk about even beyond the image search. The covers are well embedded and it would take a good bit of effort to unseat them - a good thing as I'm fairly sure they'll get a lot of tugging and pulling! 

I know a few kids who'll be getting this for Christmas, and I'm sure they're not the only ones. Fantastic.
