Rory’s dad, Fox, is a tailer. The BEST in the business! Animals come from all over to have their tails made by him. Rory helps his dad in the shop and one of his jobs is measuring the customers for the tails - which isn't always easy!

This isn't Paddy's first book as author, but he's better known as an illustrator. This book shows that he deserves to be lauded as an author as well - I hope he keeps doing both for a long time.
There are so many lovely little details in here - the alliterative street names on the map, the tiny Mouse Bros shop, the book about Pluto - and I'm sure I'm missing plenty of others! The joy of Paddy illustrating his own story is that he knows exactly how it's supposed to look and he can match it exactly to the words. I love the clever play of words of a tailer, too! Why wouldn't an animal want a fancy tail for a party?
This is absolutely fantastic. I can't wait to share it with the young people in my life. It's going to go down really well.
