Post Wave Children's Books came onto the scene last year and have already made a splash in the publishing world. Here's a few of their upcoming picture and toddler books.
What does it take to build a home? Bricks and concrete, windows and walls, glass and steel? Sometimes, home is something much more . . .
With spare, gentle text and colourful illustrations, this interactive picture book imagines the many different shapes a home can take, from an apple to an umbrella, a cardboard box, a cosy reading nook and finally a reassuring hug. Clever lift-the-flap and peek-through pages invite readers to uncover hidden surprises and unexpected delights.
Perfect for any child navigating change, this is a playful ode to all the places we find comfort, reminding little ones that there's always a home waiting for us at the end of the day.
A cute board book with colourful illustrations, this shows a huge range of houses - human, animal, cardboard boxes, hollowed out apples - and shows what they all have in common; occupants who care about each other. Toddlers will love finding the fun jokes in each spread.
Home is a Hug publishes on the 9th Apr, 2026.
Bear loves to play hide-and-seek! Can you find him? Lift each flap to discover where Bear is hiding around the house. Is he behind the kitchen door, under the sofa or in the bathtub? What other animals will you meet along the way?
With adorable artwork and a clever cat who knows Bear's secrets, Where is Bear? is the perfect first book of prepositions for little ones. The playful text encourages early learning of prepositions and first words, while the interactive flaps spark curiosity and joy.
From the celebrated author of Our Love comes an adorable new pre-school range exploring first concepts.
Another fantastic board book, this one with flaps to lift, which children love! Bear is slightly visible before you lift each flap, so children will love finding him before the adult does. Learning about positions is so smoothly integrated, I didn't realise it was meant to be teaching that until I read the blurb just now. Looking forward to seeing this one in person!
Where is Bear? publishes on the 26th of March, 2026.
This sweet introduction to the water cycle is perfect for little ones. Starting with a tiny droplet in the ocean, watch it transform into a cloud, fall as rain, and flow into a river, eventually becoming part of a cup of tea enjoyed by a mother. Her tear of happiness returns to the sea, completing the circle.
With engaging die-cuts on every page and easy-to-learn first words, this book is perfect for toddlers who are eager to learn more about our world.
A very basic look at the water cycle, a great starting point for a child to start learning. The illustrations are absorbing, with plenty to look at and discuss. Ending the cycle on a tear is a clever, unique way to do it. Very pretty.
A Drop in the Ocean publishes on the 5th Mar, 2026.
Jacominus is beautiful, he is kind and gentle, clever and funny. But can you be too beautiful? Or too kind and gentle? The answer is: never!
This gentle board book for young children is a joyful exploration of children’s personalities. With tender illustrations that are both stunning and adorable, journey with Jacomimus as he learns who he is, and discovers the fun he can have with his friends by being himself.
Jacomini, star of an earlier Post Wave book, is back to help kids learn that being themselves is always ok. The images here are soft and dreamlike, and the story is very sweet. I can't wait to see this one in real life.
Jacomini publishes on the 3rd of March, 2026.
Overall: Post Wave continues to impress with thoughtful concepts and beautiful design - these are exactly the sort of books that make wonderful gifts as well as everyday favourites.
