The personal stakes are satisfying, the mystery is solvable without frustration, and the cosy fantasy world is full of fun details like horseball, masquerades, and magical grottos.

It surprised me by…
Adding new POVs and sidelining some of the original favourites. It shifts the focus slightly, but in a way that enriches the story rather than overwhelms it. And yes - there are some spicy scenes, but nothing that upends the generally cosy, comedic, and warm vibe.
