✦ BLURB ✦
Dragons, survival, and a road that leads into myth itself π✨
Pre-Reading Thoughts
I adored the first book - it was sharp, intense, and felt like a complete story with just a whisper of “maybe more.” So going into this sequel, I was both excited and a little wary. Would it live up to that ending? Or would it stretch too far?
Post-Reading
As I thought…
The world is still as brutal, dangerous, and compelling as ever. Cassie and Thomas are both great anchors, and the monsters lurking in the dark remain terrifyingly vivid. The new characters are fantastic and fit in beautifully.
It surprised me by…
How long it took to gather steam - but once it did, I couldn’t look away. I also loved that the story leaned into less common mythologies (hello, Slavic lore!) alongside the more familiar ones. The sequel makes it very clear: this is part of a bigger arc, and we’re heading toward a third book.

From the Kid's Tarot: The Star ✨
A card of hope, renewal, and guidance in darkness. Thomas and Cassie may face terrifying monsters and treacherous paths, but The Star reminds us that perseverance, courage, and vision can light the way forward.
