Where art, science, and soul gallop side by side.
Blurb:
Like the four elements - water, earth, fire, and air - this deck divides its unicorns into four courts: Art, Music, Science, and Poetry. Each group represents a different facet of human creativity and understanding, encouraging users to explore their imagination, intellect, and intuition in harmony.
Thoughts:
I’ve read and handled a lot of oracle decks, but I’ve never seen unicorns divided like this before - and it works surprisingly well. The idea of linking creative archetypes to elemental-style suits gives the deck a structure that’s both playful and surprisingly intuitive. The artwork balances Aboriginal-inspired detail with New Age softness, and while the aesthetic may not be to every reader’s taste, it’s undeniably distinctive.
It’s approachable, too - meanings are clear, the guidebook is friendly without being overly simple, and it encourages reflection through creative, rather than prescriptive, guidance. The Unicorns of Science were my personal favourites (which I wasn’t expecting!), grounding what could have been all glitter and clouds into something actually usable.
