✦ BLURB ✦
Death cards, life letters, and laughing at your own mess.
Pre-Reading Thoughts
I was intrigued by the idea of someone panicking over a literal reading of the Death card. Becky’s life is already a mess by conventional standards, so seeing her spiral (and hopefully learn something) sounded like a riot — and secretly, maybe a little relatable.
Post-Reading
As I thought…
Becky’s journey is chaotic, funny, and surprisingly tender. Seager nails the mix of anxiety, self-doubt, and sharp wit, making Becky someone you want to yell at, laugh with, and root for all at once.
It surprised me by…
How much heart it has. Beneath the comedy and misadventures, there’s a real look at what it means to face your own life honestly, to confront relationships, and to start making choices—even if they’re messy and imperfect. The letters are a genius device, blending humor and emotional resonance.

TAROT PULL
From the Light Seer’s Tarot: Death — a card of endings, transformation, and new beginnings. Becky’s literal interpretation is hilarious, but the deeper message shines through: life doesn’t wait for perfection, and sometimes you have to face the end of one chapter to start writing the next.
For fans of:
-
Book: Faking It by Jennifer E. Smith — witty, heartfelt contemporary fiction.
-
TV/Film: Fleabag — flawed, funny, and chaotic, but utterly human.
