It's too dark, Puffling by Erica McGann and Gerry Daly

Puffling lives on Skellig Michael, and she loves her cosy underground nest. But her little puffling friend is too afraid to sleep in his burrow - 'I don't like the dark. It's too dark in the dark.' So Puffling takes him to visit a playful rabbit, a happy crab, a friendly blue shark, and many other animals on Skellig. Each one tells the little puffling what they love most about the dark. Can Puffling convince her little friend not to be afraid?

Everyone's favourite puffling returns in the third book of this amazing series. Reminiscent of the owl who was afraid of the dark, this volume has her showing a younger puffling all the wonderful things about nighttime...the beautiful moon on the water, the lighthouse waving hello, the snuggly warm burrows...and one very special surprise!

With some fascinating information at the front and Gerry's drawings as full of personality as ever, this is another triumph for the duo. Children will know exactly how the younger puffling feels, and parents will empathise with Puffling's attempts to cheer her up! There's plenty to discuss here, but the story itself is not too long, just perfect for bedtime.

I think I said this on the last review, but I'm still waiting for a version that comes with a little stuffed Puffling toy...any hope at all, O'Brien?
