Robin, magpie, swan, eagle, swallow, owl.
Introduces the youngest readers to the feathered friends they can see flying all around Ireland!
With simple text and pictures, this bright and colourful board book is perfect for children learning how to understand the world around them.
O'Brien's My First Book of series is shaping up as one of the best baby series around, matching simple concepts with clear pictures. The latest entry keeps up the high standard.
The book features images of sixteen of Ireland's most common birds, illustrated with photos backed against a solid coloured background. I was a little confused with the crow, as I thought it was an African variant, but no! It's an Irish one, I'm just terrible at birds. Clearly I need to study this book a bit more!
The images are gorgeous - I especially like the kingfisher - and children will love watching out for the birds in real life. A fantastic addition to the series and a great book for toddlers.
My First Book of Irish Birds publishes on the 29th of January, 2024. I received a free copy and am giving an honest review.
