Drowning by T.J. Newman

Six minutes after takeoff, Flight 1421 crashes into the Pacific Ocean. During the evacuation, an engine explodes and the plane is flooded. Those still alive are forced to close the doors-but it's too late. The plane sinks to the bottom with twelve passengers trapped inside.

More than two hundred feet below the surface, engineer Will Kent and his eleven-year-old daughter Shannon are waist-deep in water and fighting for their lives.

Their only chance at survival is an elite rescue team on the surface led by professional diver Chris Kent - Shannon's mother and Will's soon-to-be ex-wife - who must work together with Will to find a way to save their daughter and rescue the passengers from the sealed airplane, which is now teetering on the edge of an undersea cliff.

There's not much time.

There's even less air.

Well. That is a thrill ride and a half.

I read this over two sessions and that was one too many...this is a book that demands to be devoured as soon as you get your hands on it.(TJ?) experience as a flight attendant shows, as the details set on the plane are very true to life and help to follow what's going on clearly. I wasn't always able to completely visualise what they were talking about, but that's probably because I'm not very familiar with planes...and after reading this I may never get on one again!

My proof did have a small issue where sections of text ran together...in one chapter we can have several POVs without any kind of header, so having no separation made it difficult in spots, but I'm sure that'll be remedied in the final text.

I can't wait to see this on the big screen, as I'm sure it will be picked up...it's so visual already even in this format! It would make for an amazing movie. Are you listening, Netflix/Fox/Paramount?

Definitely read this one. But not too soon before your holidays...
