Love & Other Scams by Philip Ellis

Cat has a dangerously dwindling bank balance. She also has:

* a month before her landlord kicks her out
* a surprise wedding invitation from rich mean girl, Louisa
* a secret talent for con artistry

A priceless jewel the size of a cocktail olive is glinting on Louisa's finger.

And when Cat meets her ideal plus one, Jake - who's gifted at hustling and posing as the perfect boyfriend - this wedding becomes a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. After all,

How hard can a diamond heist be?

What a cute, fun, frothy book! Reading this is like settling into a warm hug. It's like watching an Ocean's Eleven movie with a cup of hot chocolate to hand. It's like making too many comparisons and not enough information - oh, no, wait, that's just me.

Honestly, though, this is Ocean's Eleven meets Crazy Rich Asians, and I adored every minute of it. Cat's amazing and I was laughing and crying along with her (you go make up with your father, girl! Yay!) I would like a Jake of my own, please thank you very much. Don't we all deserve a Jake, really? I even ended up liking most of the bridesmaid posse, surprisingly.

This is a great read and I highly recommend it - it's perfect for summer!

Love & Other Scams is available now in the US (top image) and the UK (lower image). I received a free copy and am giving an honest review.
