Earth Alchemy Oracle by Katie-Jane Wright and Nikki Strange

CONNECT TO THE MAGIC OF THE EARTH.

This powerful and beautiful deck is a portal to inner healing, love and connection. Each colourful card is infused with crystals, plants, trees, flowers and the sacred language of light, as intuited by Katie-Jane Wright. Plants represent growth; flowers, discovery; crystals, depth. Together they hold the keys to help you dive deeper to past lives, unite with the elementals and the energy of inner earth.

– 50 stunning, unique cards connect you to the magic at your feet.
– A detailed guidebook explains the energy of each card and how to work with the deck, including a ceremony for awakening its magic, and information on details threaded through the cards: the hidden golden keys, the elementals and the seven colour rays.
– Try various recommended spreads to direct your intuition – the Chakra Spread, the Elements of Change Spread or the Earth Dragon Grounding Spread.

Mother Earth is calling and it’s time to listen. What messages does she have for you?

I've never really connected to oracle decks. Certainly there are very beautiful decks out there, absolute works of art, and some very talented artists and writers and publishers creating them. However, I found it hard enough to learn the meanings of my tarot cards; learning a whole new set of meanings for every new deck is a little more than I can handle, and invariably I get a few cards into any deck and then move on.

But the wonderful creators of this deck have thought of that! There are keywords printed right on each card. They list the plant and crystal of the card, a headline - The Void, Stars Elders, Heal the Healer - which elements the card is mostly closely aligned with, and then two or three keywords to sum up the meaning. Although it isn't everything to know about the card, it's really helpful to have this 'hook' that I can then use to help me remember the full meaning. I still don't know them all off, but I'm definitely doing better than I do with some oracles!

Right, let me try and do this in some kind of order, otherwise I'll definitely miss things.

The cards have this beautiful back design. It's not reversible, but that doesn't matter for oracle cards anyway.

The book starts with an introduction from the author and illustrator, and a ceremony to attune the cards to you. It's followed by a guide to the symbols and colours, which I found very useful as I was flicking through. Following that are several different suggested spreads for different kinds of questions one might want to ask the cards.

Each card has about two pages, with meanings for the crystal and plant listed separately.

The cards slide easily over each other for shuffling; they're roughly standard tarot card size, a little squatter maybe but should fit well in most people's hands. The book is well written and clear. As I said I haven't learned all the cards yet, but I'm working on it. I love to pick one and just study the beautiful artwork for a while, to see what it brings to mind before I read the meaning.

All in all I'm really enjoying these cards - I look forward to spending a lot more time with them in the future!

The Earth Alchemy Oracle deck is available now. I received a free copy and am giving an honest review.
