Libby’s stepmother Veronika wants to sell their house. But when Wulfie accidentally ends up inside the plumbing, she becomes convinced the house is haunted. Ever fame-hungry, Veronika invites the TV star JJ Moon and his crew to investigate the ghostly activity. If they think Wulfie is a ghost and Veronika becomes famous can Libby save her house and her best friend? Well with a best friend like Wulfie, anything can happen!
The Wulfie books are always so much fun - mostly to watch Veronika and Rex gets their comeuppance, but the relationship between Libby and Wulfie is wonderful too. It's always lovely when two lonely souls find that they can help each other out a little bit.
(Also when is her father going to admit that he knows what's going on?)
This story has a little more drama than earlier ones, with Wulfie lost and alone for a good part of the story and Libby helpless to bring him back any faster;
But Wulfie was tired and his paws were sore. He was missing Libby and he didn't like the dark. So when the water had passed this last time, he lowered himself back down and howled.
He howled as loud as he could, from the bottom of his lungs, because he was lost and he wanted to be found.
Because he didn't know what to do next.
Because he was scared he'd never get home.
Any parent who tries to stop reading at that chapter break is going to find themself begged for 'just one more, please!'
The ending of this book also has a lovely moment that changes Libby's situation quite a lot. I can't wait to see how it'll echo through the next few books in the series. This is building into a fantastic series and I'm already eager for the next Wulfie adventure!
