The Little Bee Charmer of Henrietta Street by Sarah Webb and Rachel Corcoran

When their father’s business fails, Eliza and Jonty Kane move to a tenement flat in Dublin city, number 16 Henrietta Street. From a crowded tenement to the dazzling world of the circus – can dreams really come true? A tale of bravery, adventure and bee charming!

Look at that amazing cover! It looks just like a circus poster and it has so many references to things that happen in the story. My copy didn't have the cover, which is probably a good thing because I'd be so occupied studying it that I wouldn't have actually read the book!

And that would have been a shame, because I would have missed out on a really fun, interesting read. I knew a little bit about tenements, but this book brings them to life in a way I hadn't seen before, and the facts about bees are really fascinating. There's a touch of Enid Blyton about the story - Galliano's Circus, anyone? - that I really liked. I loved how the street rallied together, at important moments and also just in quiet, everyday ways.

This is a great read that mixes adventure and facts perfectly. It's going to be a stunner.

The Little Bee Charmer of Henrietta Street publishes on the 10th of September, 2021. I received a free copy and am giving an honest review.
