Sounds of the Wild by Moira Butterfield

Discover a world of fascinating facts and hear the most amazing island-dwelling animals on the planet!

This stunningly illustrated sound book features the mighty tiger roaring in the jungle, the lemur's call as it swings through the trees and the haunting song of a humpback whale echoing through the waves.

This fun book features the sounds of animals from islands around the world. I'll be honest, I'd never even heard of some of these islands, so it's fun to read about them and about some of the unique and often endangered animals who live on them.

Each page features one sound and six or seven animals. The last page features endangered animals and several different sounds, and there's a map of the world to show exactly where the islands are, which will be great to use with children. The sounds come with an off switch, which the parents will appreciate!

The illustrations are lovely, bursting with colour, just a tiny bit cartoony without being completely outlandish. I think my favourite is the friendly looking tiger on the back page, but the crabs on the Ascension Islands are pretty great too.

Altogether this is a wonderful book, one I'll be pleased to sell to people and one I'd be happy to give as a gift. Lovely.

Sounds of the Wild publishes on the 1st October, 2020.
